Main Function:

Provide academic instruction to adolescents with complex language, learning, and cognitive disabilities.

Essential Job Function:

  • Provide instruction in a variety of subject areas

  • Engage in data-driven instruction and meaningful assessment practices

  • Adapt instruction and materials to meet the individual needs of students

  • Collaborate and communicate with other team members in addressing the needs of the whole child

  • Use technology to support and facilitate meaningful learning experiences

Candidate Requirements:

  • Massachusetts license in Special Education/Moderate Disabilities (grades 5-12) or eligibility for a waiver

  • Related experience (experience in an independent school environment preferred)

  • Strong ability to incorporate technology into instruction

  • Exceptional written, interpersonal, and problem solving skills

  • Ability to handle a fast-paced environment

Temporary Clinician/Case Manager position

Reports to:

Michelle Mendes, Clinical Director

Main Function:

Provide social/emotional support to adolescents and young adults with complex language, learning, and cognitive disabilities.

Essential Job Function:

  • Work collaboratively with team members in meeting the needs of the whole child

  • Manage a caseload of students

  • Lead team meetings

  • Collect and manage data and generate reports on progress and challenges

  • Work with students on goal development

  • Participate in IEP meetings

  • Display excellent organizational and case management skills

  • Work effectively with the family system

  • Ensure safety, success, and well-being of all students by monitoring physical, emotional, and interpersonal needs

Job Classification:

Full or part time Monday- Friday position, with one evening/week coverage  

Candidate Requirements:

  • Master’s Degree in social work, counseling or related field

  • Licensure in field: LCSW, LICSW, LMHC, or BCBA preferred

  • 3-5 years of experience working with adolescents and young adults.  Experience working with students with learning challenges preferred.

  • Exceptional written, interpersonal, and problem solving skills

  • Flexible and able to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple demands

  • Excellent communication skills

Awake Overnight Monitors

Awake Overnight Monitor

Reports to:

Awake Overnight Supervisor

Main Function:

Carry out campus wide student and campus wide safety and security measures such as, visual checks on students, checking school buildings and vehicles, supporting students, reporting suspicious activity, completing basic maintenance and clerical duties. 

Essential Job Function:

  • Conduct visual checks throughout the night on each student

  • Perform security rounds of campus

  • Effective time management and organizational skills.

  • Demonstrate effective communications and interpersonal skills.

  • Collaborate with Residential and Healthcare teams

Job Classification:

  • 11-month, Full time position

  • Overnight shift, averaging 30 to 40 hours per week

Minimum Requirements:

  • Comply with all School and/or OSHA safety guidelines and training including Universal Precautions.

  • Ability to work independently.

  • A current valid driver’s license, CORI clearance, and fingerprinting is required.

  • Maintain current CPR and first aid certifications.

Maintenance Tech

Reports to:

Director of Facilities

General Performance Responsibilities:

  • Perform various work in the ongoing maintenance and repair of our facilities and equipment.

  • Read, interpret and prioritize work orders

  • Respond to emergency situations when called upon by a Facilities Supervisor.

  • Ensure compliance with all applicable safety standards.

  • Troubleshoot and perform corrective maintenance

  • Identify and correct health and safety issues

  • Assist the Director of Facilities with special projects.

  • Perform corrective action and preventive maintenance regarding building systems.

  • Maintain records of work performed including materials used; turn in received work orders daily; request materials needed according to established guidelines.

  • Perform seasonal landscaping and snow removal:  Shovel, plow and/or treat properties; Perform snow removal operations and run associated equipment as directed

  • Effectively and safely operate a variety of tools and equipment used

  • Prioritize and review work when completed for quality workmanship.

  • Establish and maintain cooperative, professional and effective working relationships with others.

  • Observe and perform legal and defensive driving practices

  • Use and operate a computer and/or electronic devices to maintain assigned work

Other Requirements:

  • Legally authorized to work in the US

  • Suitable drug test, physical, and background check results (CORI, SORI, DCF) with fingerprinting required.

  • Ability to obtain CPR and First Aid certifications

Evening and weekend work may be required for School events or emergencies.

Residential Instructor WITH and WITHOUT Overnights

Main Function:

Provide direct and ongoing supervision, support, and instruction to students, while overseeing and coordinating the day-to-day operations of the dormitory.

  • Provide direct and ongoing supervision, support, and instruction to students, while coordinating the day-to-day operations of the dormitory.

  • Provide an engaged, structured and supportive dormitory environment designed to promote growth and independence through assessment, direct instruction, positive reinforcement and the setting of clear and consistent expectations.

  • Meet the individual and collective needs of assigned students relative to their unique learning styles.

Job Classification:

  • Full Time - Sunday-Wednesday (Shifts include evenings and weekends)

  • Full Time - Wednesday-Saturday (Shifts include evenings and weekends)

  • Residential Instructors with Overnights (asleep) can earn up to $65,000 annually based on experience and degree.

  • Demonstrate an understanding of the School mission and adhere to all policies and procedures.

  • Experience working with students with learning and intellectual disabilities and/or a willingness to engage in professional development to gain the knowledge necessary to effectively work with the Riverview student profile.
